Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige

Packing light is something I've never quite been able to pull off. A seven day trip calls for seven pairs of heels, seven tubes of lipstick, seven--you get the picture. But with the weather warming up and weekend trips just around the corner, I'm appreciating the multi-tasking potential of my Beige Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact.
Together, the fine shimmer of the nude toned strips makes for the perfect highlighter. Highlighting really accents and shapes facial features. From natural to glamorous, the beige glow works with any look.
The shimmer brick also doubles as an eyeshadow palette in a pinch. There's a golden white shade that makes a great brow and inner eye highlight, and shades of champagne, tan and brown make for terrific shimmering shadow shades. The powders blend into a sparkling, translucent veil that stays put.
Just be sure to pack a medium or dark toned matte brown eyeshadow for the crease (preferably one that doubles as your eyebrow color as well), and you've got eyeshadow options.

Bliss Superbalm Lip Conditioner with SPF 15

Bitter, waxy chap sticks, be gone! Bliss Superbalm Lip Conditioner with SPF 15 is smooth, sweet and super-softening.
Pucker conditioning agents mango, cocoa butter and vitamin E sink into lips to deeply hydrate. SPF 15 protects lips from damaging sun rays, and a tiny dose of salicylic acid wards-off flakes. The potent vanilla scent is just like a tasty vanilla ice cream cone. Yum.
I like to coat my lips with Superbalm before hitting the sack. When I wake in the am, my lips are primed for whatever lip stains or pale lipsticks the day may bring--without the risk of looking rough and flaky.

MAC Eyeshadow in Tempting
Like any girl deserving of the title "makeup junkie," I own enough MAC eyeshadow to create my own schematically sorted multi-tiered display.
But if I had to pick one eyeshadow to wear the rest of my life, MAC Eyeshadow in Tempting would be it. Like a little pot of treasure, the antique golden brown bronze glitters with a rich lustre finish.
Complimenting every eye color, this shadow adds instant sizzle. Dull eyes dance with a flash of Tempting, and shine like two expertly set gems. A true multi-tasker, this eyeshadow works for day or night. And like all MAC shadows, the pigmentation is divine, wearing color true and smooth all day long.
To fully experience the glory of this god among eyeshadows, you must sweep it underneath your lower lash line. Try using a MAC 219 brush, or similar stiff brush. Even on days when Tempting doesn't make it onto my lids, that gilded line is still the perfect finishing touch.

Maybelline Lineworks Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Can you imagine a world without liquid eyeliner? What would the Marylins of the universe do?
Ok, I guess it wouldn't be that earth-shattering, but fortunately we've got it, with plenty of options. Maybelline Lineworks Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is a reliable pick, and works just as well, if not better than more expensive brands.
While felt tips usually aren't my first pick for liquid liners because sometimes they seem a bit runny, this felt tip applicator is easy to control and the formula goes on evenly. The color stays in place without flaking or transferring, and the waterproof formula means your liner will stay strong, even if you get a little mist in your eyes.
My favorite shade is the grey, worn cat-eye style of course!

SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream

Maybe it's befitting that the SkinMedica Dermal Repair Cream jar looks sort of like a UFO, because the list of futuristic-like ingredients makes this cream out of this world!
Dermal Repair is formulated to help skin repair itself through hydration, antioxidants and protection against environmental factors. It also reduces hyperpigmentation from sun damage and age spots.
While this is dubbed an anti-aging cream, it still works wonders for skin that isn't necessarily showing signs of aging yet. (I'm all about prevention!) Since I've started using this as my night cream, my skin has taken on more of a glow and reached a state of equilibrium. Plumped and softened, my skin does look more youthful. Hydrated, but not oily, my skin has reached a Utopian state. The cream is not the slightest bit greasy--skin drinks it right up--and it hasn't dared clog a pore.
So what's in this dream cream? The short answer is hyaluronic acid (which holds up to 40 times its weight in water--talk about hydration!) and antioxidants. For the long answer, check out the website for a nice break-down and explanation of the ingredients.

LORAC Cream Lipstick in Baby Doll

Anyone who has searched for that perfect pale pink lipstick knows it's like finding a needle in a haystack. Most end up being too sheer and therefore not showing up that well, on top of needing to be reapplied every two minutes.
And then I found LORAC Baby Doll lipstick--a pink pastel that packs a punch. The cream formula goes on with substantial satin coverage and has stupendous staying power--not to mention it smells like candy.
Lining lips for dimension seems to be especially critical when dealing with light shades--and this one is no exception. Try pairing this with a shimmering grey smoky eye for a look that says "meow!"

Juicy Couture Juicy Couture Perfume

Have you smelled Juicy Couture Juicy Couture perfume? It's fabulous, darling! A couple spritzes of this sweet floral will have you feeling irresistibly flirty and girly.
The fragrance makes a fresh entrance with notes of watermelon, mandarin, pink passion fruit, green leaves, water hyacinth and marigold flowers. Come-hither notes of tuberose, lily, and wild rose fill-out the middle. Then, it has a smooth finish with notes of caramels, powdery vanilla, creme brulee, patchouli and woods.
The scent smells expensive which is good. You don't want to go cheap on a floral and risk smelling like some Body Fantasies disaster. Even the Eau de Toilette is very concentrated--you definitely don't want to o.d. on this stuff.
From the stately-looking stopper to the heavy glass to the embossed emblem, the bottle is all about appearances. The 3.4 oz bottle towers over my other perfumes, in snobbish, elitist fashion. And herein lies the Juicy paradox--because everything about this fragrance is the antithesis of a velour track suit.

La Mer The Cleansing Foam

Believe the hype--La Mer The Cleansing Foam really is that good. Every wash is like enveloping your face in a silky cloud, leaving skin immaculately clean and conditioned.
Skin goes from stressed to its best with this miracle potion. Key ingredients sea algae fibers, magnetized tourmaline, deconstructed waters and pearl powder work in synergy to provide the most thorough yet gentle cleansing.
After just one wash, my pores were deep-cleaned and appeared less obvious. The after-glow was notable, and continued use has balanced and nourished my skin.
A nickel-sized amount is all it takes to lather your face into oblivion (the foam is so incredibly rich it's like a foam party for your face!), so this cleanser goes the distance.

Clinique Perfectly Real Compact Makeup

Quick, clean and easy, Clinique Perfectly Real Compact Makeup seemed like a winner. It wasn't.
A light application of this oil-free foundation makes skin look flat and chalky, minimizing imperfections but not totally concealing them. Any attempts at trying to build-up this foundation results in a cakey, dry disaster. Those familiar with mineral makeup will especially find this powder lacking in luminosity and coverage.
However, a couple spritzes with my trusty MAC Fix+ makes this foundation completely undetectable on the skin. But within a couple hours, it truly is undetectable on the skin--and not in a good way.
So now I'm back to my DiorSkin Forever/ MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural combo, which, in all honesty only takes a minute longer, and is so worth the extra step.

Love Her Look: Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams strikes me as laid-back and down to earth, and here she is exuding sophisticated-cool beauty in this shot.
To get her look, perfect skin with a liquid foundation like Lancome Photogenic Skin-Illuminating Makeup SPF 15. Give skin a silky, flawless finish with a light-diffusing powder such as Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder.
Using a peach tinted illuminating powder, like Smashbox Soft Lights in Lens really gives skin that "wow" factor. Sweep it on the cheeks, on the center of the forehead, and down the bridge of the nose.
Make eyes smolder with a cool, matte dark brown like MAC Eyeshadow in Mystery. Pat the shadow on the upper eyelids and blend it out to a point at the outer corners, then smudge some along the lower lash line. Add a pop of silvery shimmer along the lower lashes and the inner corners of the eyelids. MAC Pigment in Platinum is a great pick. Trace the upper lashes with a thin line of your favorite black eyeliner, and then finish the lashes with a clump-free, volumizing mascara like Cover Girl VolumeExact.
NARS lipstick in Belle de Jour gives a pretty peach pout, and the look is complete!

LORAC Mocktail in Sex on the Beach

When it comes to cocktails, my m.o. is Bacardi and Diet Coke, but with LORAC Mocktail lip gloss, I'm all about Sex on the Beach.
Super smooth and super shiny, this fuschia fruit-flavored lip gloss is the stuff dreams are made of. It glazes lips in the perfect shade of transparent pink. (Don't be fooled by its uber-bright appearance in the tube--it shows up as much more of a sedated fuschia).
The formula is amazingly non-sticky, yet stays on the lips--a feat nearly impossible in the lip gloss world. The squeeze tube with the built-in brush dispenses fresh gloss with precision and ease. Although this isn't a plumping gloss, it somehow it makes lips look extra lush and juicy.
Mocktails are available in ten shades, which means I may need to start a tab!
