Blonde and beautiful, Claudia Schiffer is the Brigitte Bardot of my generation.
Claudia's fame exploded during the 1990s, a decade marked by the "earth tones" makeup trend. In many of her pictures, she's wearing a neutral blush--either brown or taupe (which does wonders for accentuating cheekbones) and a nude lip. Claudia put a retro spin on things though, by lining her eyes all the way around with black eyeliner.
The German-born supermodel has graced over 500 magazine covers. You can still regularly spot her in L'Oreal advertisements.

Back in the Day Beauty: Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford is fierce. Although she is still young and every bit as gorgeous today, her images from the 80s and 90s are iconic. Who can forget those Revlon ads or that Pepsi commercial?
Cindy signature look is, of course, her trademark mole. But even if you don't have a beauty mark like hers doesn't mean you can't channel your own inner Cindy. Stock your makeup bag with your own Cindy Crawford ammo: bronzer to get sun-kissed skin, volumizing mousse for full, tousled hair, lip plumper for a sexy pout and eyebrow gel to hold brushed-up eyebrows in place.
And Cindy has the brains to match her bombshell beauty. Did you know she was her high school valedictorian?

Back in the Day Beauty: Brigitte Bardot

In addition to Product Reviews, Love Her Look, Runway Beauty and the Weekly Digest, I'm adding a new feature to the blog: Back in the Day Beauty! These posts will showcase beauty icons and their signature looks.
The first Back in the Day Beauty is probably my favorite beauty icon of all, Brigitte Bardot. This French-born beauty popularized the bikini, but I love her best of all for bringing us the Choucroute hairstyle--a messy, undone beehive.
I rock this hairstyle pretty much everyday, and it's super-easy to do, but works best with naturally wavy hair. Simply finger-comb back the top section of the hair and clip it securely. Then take something skinny like the end of a rat-tail comb (I usually use an eyeshadow brush handle!), insert it horizontally where hair is clipped and pull upward to create height. Secure the clip in place with a bobby pin and you're done!
Bardot enjoyed the height of her fame during the '50s and '60s and starred in over 50 films and recorded several records over the course of her career.
