Matrix Biolage Color Care Conditioner

You know the saying "cleanliness is next to godliness?" Well I say, "fragrant hair is next to goddess-ness!" Biolage by Matrix has been boy tested (and approved!) for fragrance, and, lucky for us, is also one of the best working hair care lines out there. My pick is Biolage Conditioner from the Colorcarethérapie collection.

Formulated to seal-in color, this conditioner is like a spa treatment for the hair. Citrus, Soy Protein, Sunflower, Rosemary, Nettle, Ginseng and Ginko Biloba blend into a botanical delight. The formula feels lighweight, but it delivers a heavy dose of moisture and spins stressed strands into silk. Hair looks incredible and smells uniquely fabulous (read: it isn't played-out like Herbal Essences).

So the next time you're in Costco and your man is hitting up the hot dog stand, swing by the beauty aisle and pick up the 33.8 oz bottle. It will give you months of great hair days, and is by far a much better bargain than the 13.5 oz one.

Matrix Sleek Look Conditioner

Every time I see a girl with perfectly sleek, glossy hair, I want to run up to her and drill her on her haircare routine. Well, I think I just discovered one of her secrets: Matrix Sleek Look Conditioner.

Designed to keep out humidity but lock in moisture, this conditioner coaxes coarse, dry hair into silky shiny strands. After a rinse and towel dry, my hair is so slippery that my comb runs through it like a hot knife through butter. And forget the hair straightener-- just blow drying my hair transforms my waves into a stick straight 'do.

The scent of this conditioner is a little strange--it sort of smells like a bad air freshener, but luckily the scent doesn't stick around. Also, because this conditioner does smooth the hair so well, it's best used on days when you want a pin-straight style, not just frizz-free waves.

Matrix Amplify Color XL Shampoo

I already told you how much I love big hair, and Matrix Amplify Color XL Shampoo gets me one step closer. This shampoo delivers a one-two punch: it volumizes and protects color. A patented volumizing formula works to increase the thickness and diameter of the hair, and a UV filter helps block the sun's rays that can zap hair color.

It smells good, doesn't make hair feel sticky and most importantly, it does add volume!

I like to pair this shampoo up with Matrix Biolage Color Care Conditioner, because the texture isn't very heavy, and it still gives me soft hair.

Also, to achieve maximum volume, don't apply conditioner all the way up to your scalp--start at the ends and work the conditioner up until you're about 3 to 4 inches down from the scalp. Your natural oils will reach this part of the hair anyway, so it shouldn't dry out. Conditioning the roots will just thwart your attempts at adding volume.
