Blonde and beautiful, Claudia Schiffer is the Brigitte Bardot of my generation.
Claudia's fame exploded during the 1990s, a decade marked by the "earth tones" makeup trend. In many of her pictures, she's wearing a neutral blush--either brown or taupe (which does wonders for accentuating cheekbones) and a nude lip. Claudia put a retro spin on things though, by lining her eyes all the way around with black eyeliner.
The German-born supermodel has graced over 500 magazine covers. You can still regularly spot her in L'Oreal advertisements.

Love Her Look: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian's makeup always always looks impeccable. This edition of Lover Her Look is a little bit different. Instead of providing a breakdown of one of Kim's looks, I'm posting Kim's makeup tips straight from her! She provided her makeup routine in 10 steps on her blog, which I've pasted below:
STEP 1: I always start with a clean face. Then I put on Intuit 'Photo Shoot.' Intuit is a great company and I love the names of their products. Photo Shoot is a make up primer. I put it on after my moisturizer, which basically is like a moisturizer that will fill the pours on your face which will help set the foundation so it will last longer.
STEP 2: I use Cle De Peau concealer stick (it's super expensive, but works for me). It comes in two colors, I use Ocre, which is the darker of the two. I also use M.A.C. concealer (which comes in a little pot) if I run out of Cle de Peau. Everyone's color is different but I use NW25. I put the concealer under my eyes because I absolutely hate dark circles! I also use concealer to cover up blemishes!
STEP 3: After I put the concealer on I put on Make Up Forever liquid foundation. I mix one pump of No. 5 and two pumps of No. 4. I also have No. 3 for the winter time when I am really pale. I mix the foundations to get the perfect color. I blend them with the coolest make up brush. Its the M.A.C. brush No. 180.
STEP 4: Since I hate dark circles, after the foundation, I put on a little more concealer just under my eyes since the foundation makes it darker under my eyes. I use a lighter concealer from M.A.C. NW30 in a little lipstick tube-looking container and I select 'moisture cover.'
STEP 5: To set the foundation I lightly brush on with a big powder brush M.A.C. Select Sheer Pressed Powder NC 30, then to make me a little tanner I lightly brush on M.A.C. Powder NW 45.
STEP 6: Now its blush time! I'm obsessed with blush! I use a color called Gingerly to warm me up and give me a little color and then add a pink color called Cheek to give me rosey cheeks. I just started getting into cream blush and find it works a lot better and lasts a lost longer.
STEP 7: Time for the eyes! My favorite part! I first put down a M.A.C. Paint pot in a light color that matches my skin called Painterly. I just use my finder and put enough onto cover the lid. This creamy shadow makes it so that the powder eye shadow does not crease. Like, if you wear make up all day you will see that the eye shadow begins to crease and get oily, but if you put this paint color down first it won't! I love cream shadow and use the color cream pots too! I love colored shadow; so it depends on the color depend of shadow I plan to wear: If it's black smokey I use Carbon by M.A.C.; if its grey smokey I use Knight Divine or Print; if it's bown smokey I use Embark by M.A.C. I love a fresh shimmery look as well and use M.A.C. Pigment called Tan. Its so pretty! I love bright colors for eye make up! I absolutely love Make Up Forever and don't think anyone does pigment colors better than them. So again, depending on what color you feel like wearing, go look at Make Up Forever's colors to choose from.
STEP 8: I always use black pencil eyeliner. My favorite is Stilla black pencil.
STEP 9: Now its mascara time! Putting on mascara completes the look, but I have it when I mess up and get it on my eye lid and mess up the eye shadow. I used to use Lancome Hypnose, and still do, but I recently started to use M.A.C. Zoom mascara -- which is amazing! I take my time and put coat after coat. I love to layer mascaras so I will probably start with the M.A.C. Zoom and then put Lancome Hypnose on top. I always use a seperator brush to seperate my lashes. I am completely clueless on how to put false lashes on, so I only wear them for photo shoots sometimes.
STEP 10: The final touch is putting on lipstick! I usually use M.A.C. Lipliner called Stripdown (I use it very lightly) and a lipstick called Angel and put Nars Turkish Delight lipgloss on top. Or for my very nude matte lip I wear Nars Belle De Jour and I line my lips first with M.A.C. Subculture lipliner.
And there you have it! And for those wondering about her hair, she said she uses anything from Herbal Essences to Finesse to salon brands.

Love Her Look: Christina Aguilera

Wow! Christina Aguilera should rock bright pink lips more often! Her look is all about lips and lashes, so keep the rest of the face simple.
Start by evening out your complexion with a sheer liquid foundation. Dior DiorSkin AirFlash Spray Foundation will do the trick. Then, lightly set foundation with a luminous powder, like Lancome ABSOLUE POWDER - Radiant Smoothing Powder.
Sculpt cheeks with a duo like Too Faced Ooh La Rouge in Creme Brulee, using the darker color to contour the cheekbones and the lighter color to highlight. Add just a touch of pink blush using a hue like Benefit Thrrob.
Eyes stay shimmery and light. Sweep on a pearlescent color like NARS eyeshadow in Abyssinia and then lightly define the crease with your favorite matte light brown shadow. Coat the top lashes with black curling mascara, like Givenchy Parad'Eyes Volume, Length and Curl Mascara. To really go all the way, apply a strip of false lashes to the upper lash line.
Line lips with a vibrant lip liner like MAC lip pencil in Magenta, and then fill-in lips with MAC lipstick in Full Fuchsia.

Back in the Day Beauty: Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford is fierce. Although she is still young and every bit as gorgeous today, her images from the 80s and 90s are iconic. Who can forget those Revlon ads or that Pepsi commercial?
Cindy signature look is, of course, her trademark mole. But even if you don't have a beauty mark like hers doesn't mean you can't channel your own inner Cindy. Stock your makeup bag with your own Cindy Crawford ammo: bronzer to get sun-kissed skin, volumizing mousse for full, tousled hair, lip plumper for a sexy pout and eyebrow gel to hold brushed-up eyebrows in place.
And Cindy has the brains to match her bombshell beauty. Did you know she was her high school valedictorian?

Love Her Look: Jessica Simpson

Tossled hair, glowing skin and a bright smile is always a good look. Jessica Simpson looks simply gorgeous in this picture.
To get Jessica's look, perfect your complexion with a natural foundation that looks like skin and will won't mask your natural glow. Bare Minerals SPF 15 Foundation does just that. Use a kabuki brush for a more luxurious experience. Then, sweep on a sheer bronzer to get a sun-kissed glow. Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder has 3 shades to pick from and built-in highlighters to keep it looking natural. Give cheeks a hint of pink with Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace, or a similar light pink blush.
Warm up the eye area using a palette of shimmering tans and browns, such as Too Faced Candy Bars in Brown Sugar. Keep the application light to add just a hint of color and twinkle. Use your favorite brown eyeliner to give eyes soft definition. Elongate the upper lashline by extending the liner slightly at the outer corners. Next, dot the liner between the lower lashes to avoid a harsh line. Finish lashes with a volumizing black-brown mascara, like L'Oreal Voluminous Full Definition Mascara.
Enhance your pout with a nude lipliner, like LipFusion Lip Plumping Pencil in Buff. Lastly, top lips with a pearlescent pastel pink gloss like Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Air Kiss and you'll be blowing sweet kisses.

Love Her Look: Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams strikes me as laid-back and down to earth, and here she is exuding sophisticated-cool beauty in this shot.
To get her look, perfect skin with a liquid foundation like Lancome Photogenic Skin-Illuminating Makeup SPF 15. Give skin a silky, flawless finish with a light-diffusing powder such as Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder.
Using a peach tinted illuminating powder, like Smashbox Soft Lights in Lens really gives skin that "wow" factor. Sweep it on the cheeks, on the center of the forehead, and down the bridge of the nose.
Make eyes smolder with a cool, matte dark brown like MAC Eyeshadow in Mystery. Pat the shadow on the upper eyelids and blend it out to a point at the outer corners, then smudge some along the lower lash line. Add a pop of silvery shimmer along the lower lashes and the inner corners of the eyelids. MAC Pigment in Platinum is a great pick. Trace the upper lashes with a thin line of your favorite black eyeliner, and then finish the lashes with a clump-free, volumizing mascara like Cover Girl VolumeExact.
NARS lipstick in Belle de Jour gives a pretty peach pout, and the look is complete!

Love Her Look: Salma Hayek

Here's an excerpt of the Campari ads featuring the breathtaking Salma Hayek. Her smoldering eyes and flawless skin make for a seductive combination.
Perfect skin with a liquid foundation like Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation. Set the foundation with a whisper of loose powder, like Lancome Photogenic Sheer Loose Powder.
Salma's thick, defined brows add to the intensity of her dark eyes. Try using a brow powder like Anastasia Brow Ex-press. Shade the lids with a shimmery grey shadow, for example Dior 1-Couleur Powder Mono Eyeshadow in Silver Dust. Use this same color to line the lower lash line. Next, using a matte black shadow like Make Up Forever Eyeshadow in Black 4, make an inward pointing caret shape (< ) on the outer portion of the eyes. Blend the two shades together and upward. Highlight the tear ducts with a luminizer like Benefit Moon Beam. Line the eyes with the blackest of black eyeliners, like MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder. Draw a thick line on the upper lashes, extending the outer-corner upward slightly. Then, line the lower lashes, stopping about a third of the way in. Coat the lashes with a volumizing mascara like Avon SuperFULL Mascara.
Contour the face with a sculpting powder-- check out Kevyn Aucoin's. Shade the hollow of the cheeks, sides of the nose, hairline and jawline--but be sure to blend! Pass on the blush and lightly tint the lips with a mauvish-rose color such as Sephora Jumbo Pencil-Lip in Figure 404L.
Now this is a look I'll toast to!

Love Her Look: Emmy Rossum

In honor of D.C.'s first gentle snowfall of the year, I'm posting this picture of Emmy Rossum, in which she looks just as fresh and delicate as a snowflake.
To get Emmy's look, begin by smoothing on a sheer, cream-to-powder foundation that has a natural-skin finish. Try Vincent Longo Water Canvas Creme-to-Powder Foundation. Skip additional powder to keep the face looking super-fresh.
Tones of softly shimmering white and grey, like LORAC Shimmer and Dreamy shadows, brighten the eyes. Sweep a white shade over the lids and on the inner corners of the eyes, keeping the application light so that the lid still shows through. Then, work a grey shadow into the outer corners of the eyes. Blend the shadows well to create a diffused look. Line the upper lids with a black-brown eyeliner like Cover Girl Perfect Blend and smudge the line using the cushioned blender tip. Coat the upper lashes with a lengthening mascara like Lancome Definicils. Keep the lower lashes clean, with just one light coat of mascara.
Get the cheeks glowing with a soft pink blush like Bobbi Brown Ski Slopes Blush. Next, create a soft yet precise lip by lining the lips with your favorite nude lip liner and then filling them in with a pinky-peach frosted lipstick like MAC Sandy B Lipstick.
And by now, you should be one gorgeous snow-bunny!

Love Her Look: Heidi Klum

Here's a gorgeous picture of Heidi Klum flashing her signature big, warm smile. To get a supermodel-worthy look like Heidi's, begin by blending a natural-finish foundation over the face, like Sisley Phyto Teint Eclat, and lightly set it with your favorite finishing powder. Give the eyebrows a soft shape by shading them in with a powder, like MAC Brow Shader.
For the eyes, it's all about the shimmer. Line the upper lashes with a brown eyeliner before applying the shadow. This way, the liner will still help the lash line stand out, but it will appear more integrated into the shadow. Sweep a golden shadow over the eyelids, and then work a bronze shade into the crease for definition. Then pop a shimmery ivory color on the inner corner of the eyes. Next, line the lower lashes using the bronze and gold shadows. Layering the colors will create a deeper gold that will really stand out. Pick up a trio like Stila Eye Shadow Trio in Gold Glow if you don't already have similar shades. Finish the eyes with a couple coats of mascara that thickens and defines, like Cover Girl Fantastic Lash.
Swirl a pinky-peach blush like Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Mosaic Blush in Love Life onto the apples of the cheeks. Dab on a sparkley gloss, like Lola Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Lust, and you're done!
Auf Wiedersehen!

Love Her Look: Rachel Bilson

Here's a snapshot of the ever-so-sweet Rachel Bilson wearing a look I shied away from for a long time: the lined waterline, or inner rim of the lower lashline. For years, I never attempted to line my waterline out of fear of making my eyes look smaller. While in theory this would be the case, I find it doesn't actually make eyes appear smaller in any appreciable amount. In fact, it ends up giving the eyes an extra stand-out quality, making them look like shining gems.
To get Rachel's look, begin by applying an illuminating foundation, like Lancome Photogenic. Make cheeks rosy with a creamy peachy-pink blush like Stila Convertable Color in Gerbera. Lightly dust on a translucent powder, like Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil. Try using a fan brush for extra-sheer application, so as not to mute the illuminating effect of the foundation or the glow of blush.
A quad like Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eveshadow Quad in Berry Bloom will be handy for creating Rachel's eye look. Sweep a purple shadow from the lashline to the crease of the lids, then blend a pink shadow into the crease and upward, but stopping short of reaching the browbone. Be sure to buff the purple shade upward, so that it smoothly transitions into the pink shade. Lightly trace a soft line of purple shadow underneath the lower lashes, and add a subtle browbone highlight with a whitish-pink or neutral highlighting shade. Then, line the upper lashes and waterline with a rich black eyeliner, like Benefit BAD Gal. Coat lashes with your favorite extra black mascara, paying extra attention to really defining the lower lashes.
Top off the look with a slick of shimmery light pink gloss like Lorac Moctail in Maui Mai Tai, and then go show-off your gorgeous, R-Bils inspired look!

Love Her Look: Katherine McPhee
Smoky eyes are guaranteed to heat up any girl's look. Here's a picture of Katherine McPhee looking sultry with her smoky eyes.
To create a smoky eye, I like to start off by prepping my eyelids with foundation and powder. I find that just trying to apply eyeshadow, in general, on a bare lid makes blending difficult due to oils on the eyelid. The powder makes blending a breeze, which is especially helpful to novices working with dark colors. If you're comfortable working with eyeshadow primer, then go for it! (Regular readers know I don't go a day without using either a MAC shadestick or paint!)
Using a stiff brush (which deposits more color than a fluffy brush), "press" on the dark shadow. This also deposits more color as opposed to using a sweeping motion. Apply the color all over the lower lid up to the crease. Then, using a neutral brown matte shadow, about one shade darker than your skin, work it into your crease, buffing it into the top edge of the darker shade. The end result should be that the darker shade will gradually diffuse upward, so that there won't be a sharp contrast on the lid where the dark color stops and the rest of your lid begins. Blending the same dark shade under the lower lashes ties the look together.
Remember, smoky eyes don't have to be just black or gray--they can be created with any dark color! Try using forest green, plum or midnight blue for a twist.

Love Her Look: Rihanna
Rihanna is always looking sexy, fun and fresh, and she sure knows how to work the cat-eye.
The cat-eye has been all over the runways this season, and has definitely become more mainstream. It's easy to see why--the cat-eye equals glamour and sex-appeal in one fell swoop.
Try as hard as I might, I usually can't resist extending my eyeliner out those extra crucial millimeters, even if it means showing up to church in my Sunday-best and cat-eyes in full effect.
To achieve a cat-eye look, simply trace your upper-lashline with eyeliner, and then when you reach the outer-corner of your eye, extend the line slightly, turning it upward. If you're not comfortable working with liquid eyeliner, try a cream-gel formula like MAC Fluidline, or even a smooth-gliding pencil will get the job done.
So next time you're getting ready and jammin' out to Umbrella, draw on a little cat-eye, Rihanna style.

Back by Popular Demand: Megan Fox
Well readers, the people have spoken. You want to know all about how to get bombshell makeup like Ms. Megan Fox!
To begin, use a sheer foundation that has a natural finish. An airbrush formula like MAC Studio Mist Foundation or Dior DiorSkin Airflash Spray Foundation would work well. Try using a foundation shade one shade darker than your skin tone to achieve a bronzed look like Megan's, but be sure to blend it down onto the neck, so it won't be obvious.
Set the foundation with an ultra-sheer finishing powder, and only where you absolutely need it (most likely the t-zone). Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is virtually invisible and works wonders to zap shine and make skin look flawless.
Use a shimmering highlighting powder to emphasize the high planes of the face. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige is virtually fool-proof. Sweep it over the tops of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, and underneath the eyebrows. I usually place some in the center of my forehead as well, but it looks like Megan has highlighted her temple area instead.
When applying the blush, avoid the apples of the cheeks and sweep on blush at more of angle. This will create a sexier, more angular look. Megan is sporting a bronzed rose color, perhaps Nars blush in Lovejoy?
Moving on to the eyes, she keeps the eyeshadow color pretty simple. Pick a neutral tone, but one that is ultra shimmery. Right now I'm loving Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Glimmer in In the Buff. Run a rich black eyeliner along the top lashes only, making the line thicker at the outer corner of the eyes. MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder is extremely rich and sooty. Coat the top lashes several times with the blackest curling mascara you can get your hands on. Loreal Panoramic Curl works well, and I'm dying to try Lancome Courbe Virtuose. Maybe hit the bottom lashes with one light coat of mascara, but that's it.
And of course, don't forget to do the eyebrows! This is critical. Megan's eyebrows are thick, yet very defined, and it looks like she fills them in with shadow as opposed to a pencil. To get her look, begin by brushing the eyebrows upwards. Then, select a shadow shade that is one shade lighter than your haircolor. (By the time you have it on and it blends with your brows, it will be a perfect match). Using a stiff angled brush, fill in the brows, following your natural line, but also making sure that both of your eyebrows are as close to symmetrical as possible.
Lastly, a luscious, glossy pout finishes the look. To achieve maximum fullness, begin by lining the lips with a lip pencil designed to be used with lipgloss. I use Still Glaze Lip Liner in Soft Pink. Then, fill them in with a tinted, shimmering lip plumping gloss. My pick are MAC Plushglass in Bingo! or Lip Fusion in Summer.
Follow these tips and you'll be transformed into a knockout in no time!

Love Her Look: Sophia Bush

In every picture I've ever seen of Sophia Bush, she's always looking lovely and luminous. When it comes to her look, her glowing skin always takes center-stage. Although women tend to focus on emphasizing either their eyes or lips, skin is also an important main feature that shouldn't be overlooked. Playing up beautiful skin is a wonderful technique to creating a mesmerizing look.
Creating radiant skin like Sophia's can be done several ways. Try mixing a few drops of skin illuminator into your regular foundation (Revlon Skinlight Instant Skin Brightener would work well), or prep skin with an illuminating moisturizer prior to applying foundation. MAC Strobe Cream is a non-greasy iridescent moisturizer that still manages to glow through foundation. And of course, a ready-made illuminating foundation would also do the trick. Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation is supposed to be good, although I haven't personally tried it (yet!)

Love Her Look: Megan Fox
I love this picture of Megan Fox because, aside from being stunningly gorgeous, she showcases three great ways to add drama to any look--whether you prefer amped-up makeup or a natural look. Defined eyebrows, curled lashes and plumped lips will take your beauty to the next level.
See my breakdown of how to get Megan's look here.
