Bare Minerals All-Over Face Color in Pure Radiance

Bare Minerals All-Over Face Color in Pure Radiance--the name pretty much says it all. This luminous, golden peach powder looks like love captured and bottled; it just radiates purity and beauty.

A dusting of this fine powder gives skin a dreamy glow and imparts just a hint of color to the skin.

Not only do luminizers like this product give skin a healthy look, their light-reflecting properties minimize complexion imperfections.

Simply apply it as you would your highlighter--over the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, and a tap on the forehead and chin.

Bonne Bell Glimmer Bronze in Gold n' Glitz

I never got mixed up in the seemingly infinite flavors of Bonne Bell Lip Smackers, but one BB product I go way back with is their Glimmer Bronze in Gold n' Glitz.

A couple quick brush strokes with this shimmering loose powder and your skin will look so radiant, you'll be doing a double-take in the mirror. Never orange, this golden-brown shade gives skin a celestial splendor. The bronze is mild enough to gently warm pale winter skin, and I think it would only look more golden--not ashy--on darker skin tones.

For a sun-kissed look, sweep this powder over the high planes of your face, making sure to include the bridge of the nose (this bronzer is magic on the nose!) or try blending it with your loose setting powder for an all-over diffused glow.

Stila All Over Shimmer Eyes

I love goooooold!* No, I'm not talking about the precious metal, I'm talking about gold eyeshadow! Gilded lids flatter every eye color and look stunning with baby pink lips, screaming red lips, and everything in between.

One of my favorite tones of gold is Stila All Over Shimmer Eyes in #7, an antique gold. Formulated with pearl particles and refined shimmer, this rich powder imparts a gorgeous sparkle on the lids. The sifter-top keeps accidents at bay, and one jar lasts and lasts.

This product reminds me a lot of my favorite collection of shimmering shadows, Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Glimmer, which boasts 30+ shades, compared to Stila's sparse 4-shade collection. Thankfully, Stila decided to include this hue in their pared-down collection, because you can never have too much gold!

Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc

Shimmer palettes have been a wild success lately, and for good reasons. Shimmer can liven-up a dull complexion and create dimension. I have the Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic. This shimmer is formulated with modern wearable pearl and it is definitely subtle, so it's ok to sport this to work. Fear not--there's no risk that you'll show up at 8 am looking like a disco ball!

A once-over with this powder gives a nice glow to the skin, and I love transforming the matte blush colors I have by simply sweeping some of this stuff on top. This shimmer bloc is also great to have on-hand for those days when you're pinched for time. Swirl this powder over the cheeks, across the eyelids, slick on some lipgloss and you're good to go!

Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Glimmer

I have nothing but love for Bare Escentuals bareMinerals cosmetics. Although the mainstay of their line is their foundation, I have found all of their other products that I've tried to be superb as well. The glimmer is no exception. The particles are ultra refined so as to impart a sexy, sophisticated shimmer--never a juvenile, chunky glitter effect. The shades are diverse and wearable. You can apply them in a gentle sweep for a subtle effect, or pack them on for a striking look.

Because the glimmers are a loose powder, I always prep my eyes with an eyeshadow primer (usually a MAC shadestick or paint) before I apply the glimmer. Also, you may want to place a tissue under your eye when applying a darker shade of glimmer to catch any particles that flutter down.
